In today’s divisive twitter exchange and soundbites culture it can be difficult to focus on actual policies and politician’s stance on them.

The Politics Marketplace let’s you explore your political orientation and exchange ideas on a vast amount of different political issues. In addition, you can learn about how different politicians align with your views, have voted in the past and are influenced by lobbyists.

Eventually this marketplace will shape the democratic process by enabling campaign contributions and digital voting.

The Problem 

 

Our politics is broken

People have an increasingly hostile view of the other party. It’s all about picking a team and representing the party line. Everything is viewed through the lense of Left vs. Right.

Social Media selects for Outrage

People live in bubbles and echo chambers. Sound bites, gotcha statements and personal attacks win over nuanced discussions.

Politicians incentives are misaligned

Politician’s real constituents are special interest groups rather than ordinary citizen. Politics is opaque and politicians are not held accountable.

What if…

  • We could focus on policies instead of culture wars

    By providing a platform that enables users and politicians to discover and discuss political topics in a more nuanced way

  • We could have more transparency in politics

    By shedding light into a politician’s stance as well as voting history on political issues, influence by special interest groups and more

    By allowing citizen to become active by exploring, voting, exchanging on policies and donate to politicians that most represents their views.

  • Allow citizen to explore a wide range of topics with the left-right lense removed from the discourse
